Sam Wilson is a Vice President and Wealth Strategist at The Northern Trust Company. As a Wealth Strategist he delivers Northern Trust’s platform, advisors, and other resources to prospective clients. He was previously a Portfolio Manager and Regional Director who led Northern Trust’s partner training in the East Region. In that role his team developed and refined Northern Trust’s Goals Driven Wealth Management practice and its underlying technology platform.
He has over 15 years of experience across a variety of investment disciplines. He joined Northern Trust in 2013 as a Portfolio Manager before being promoted to a Regional Director and Wealth Strategist. Prior to joining Northern Trust, he was an investment advisor at Wilmington Trust, managing assets for wealthy individuals and private foundations. He began his career on the American Stock Exchange, trading options, equities and ETFs.
Sam holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College. He is a CFA charterholder and member of CFA Society New York. He holds the FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
He is on the junior council of REACH Prep, helping talented middle school students in underserved communities gain access to independent school and college admissions. He also serves on a benefit committee for Kids In Crisis, providing housing and comprehensive medical, educational and therapeutic support services for underserved and underprivileged children. He also tutors first grade reading and volunteers with the Greenwich United Way. He and his family are residents of Greenwich, CT. They enjoy various outdoor activities such as hiking, tennis, and golf.
