Ewart Salins, Alliance Africa CEO for East Africa, is responsible for the securities and advisory businesses in Kenya and also has a regional oversight role for the East African operation which includes business development and the overall strategy. He is part of a highly experienced and professional trading and research team that has handled sizeable transactions with some of the biggest frontier market funds. It is under his leadership that African Alliance’s Kenyan operation was recently voted African Broker of the Year at the African Banker awards. In addition, the Kenyan research team has contributed to African Alliance achieving the coveted Euromoney Awards for Best Research House in Africa for two consecutive years. Salins is passionate about Africa’s story having successfully hosted four unique and successful East Africa investor conferences targeting international institutional investors, which were previously only held outside the continent. Prior to joining African Alliance, he worked at Kestrel Capital (EA) Limited for five years and also spent five years at Alexander Forbes Financial Services (EA) Limited working as an Actuarial and Investment consultant. He holds a BSc degree in actuarial science from the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK, and is also a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
