Code of Conduct

CFA Society New York seeks to foster a productive, safe and mutually respectful environment for the presentation and exchange of ideas, opinions and information. All participants, including CFA Society New York members, registrants, guests, CFA Society New York staff, speakers and CFA Society New York Board members who attend a CFA Society New York sponsored or hosted event or meeting or who use CFA Society New York facilities are expected to display proper decorum. Unacceptable behavior that could be considered in violation of this Code of Conduct includes (but is not limited to):

  • Making libelous or knowingly false statements
  • Violating confidentiality terms and/or the privacy of others
  • Infringing upon any copyright, trademark, or trade secret of another party*
  • Tampering with equipment or defacing property
  • Harassing, intimidating or threatening others
  • Engaging in disorderly behavior, including asking disruptive questions and/or making inappropriate comments or physical gestures

CFA Society New York reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether any behavior at any CFA Society New York event or meeting, or at any CFA Society New York facility, is unacceptable and in violation of this Code of Conduct. In the event that CFA Society New York determines that an individual has violated this Code of Conduct or has otherwise engaged in conduct that is deemed to be improper, prejudicial or detrimental, CFA Society New York reserves the right to (i) remove any such individual from a CFA Society New York event or meeting, whether such event or meeting is held at CFA Society New York’s facility or an off-site venue, (ii) bar any individual from attending future CFA Society New York events or meeting and/or accessing CFA Society New York facilities in the future, and/or (iii) suspend any such individual”s CFA Society New York membership or expel such individual from CFA Society New York.

*Permission must be secured to display, distribute, or use in a presentation any previously published work from another source other than ones own accompanied with proper acknowledgement.

Dress Code

The dress code in CFA Society New York facilities and for attendance at programs and events is business casual unless otherwise indicated on an event registration. Collared shirt and dress slacks for gentlemen and similar attire for ladies is recommended.

Withdrawals from events, live or streaming, are subject to the following policy

  • 48 HOURS ADVANCED NOTICE OR MORE: Credit to be issued (to be used within 6 months)
  • LESS THAN 48 HOURS OR AFTER EVENT HAS STARTED: No refund

Members of the press, with proper credentials, may attend this conference at no charge subject to space availability. Please attach a business card to the registration form and mail or fax it to CFA Society New York.

Continuing Education Credits

As a participant in the CFA Institute Approved-Provider Society Program, the CFA Society New York has determined that certain events qualify for credit for the CFA Institute CE Program. Credit hours are noted for informational purposes after each course description. For additional information on this program, contact CFA Institute at (800) 247-8132, 560 Ray C. As a courtesy to attendees, CFA Society New York will provide CFA Institute with a list of members who attended those courses eligible for CEs. The CE credit hours earned will be auto-entered into each CFA Institute member?s web-based CE diary.
