Overview

At the beginning of 2020, BlackRock Chairman and CEO Larry Fink wrote in his annual letter to CEOs that investors were underestimating the investment risks posed by climate change and that we are on the edge of a fundamental reshaping of finance. He also stated that sustainability would be the new standard for investing at BlackRock.

When the pandemic took hold in March, the world’s largest asset manager was the firm that investors and governments around the world turned to for its unique insights and capabilities. In addition, BlackRock’s financial relief efforts spanned the globe with a focus on supporting frontline responders and food banks.

Please join CFA Society Toronto on 06 October when Larry shares his views with Lynn Patterson on his experiences over the past few months, along with the importance of stakeholder capitalism, global investing opportunities and the non-linear impact that the pandemic will have on various parts of society. Larry will also share his views on Canada as well as current and future trends impacting the financial services industry.
