2018 Event Theme:

Long-Termism: Emphasizing practices that encourage long-term thinking and investment to create value, promote economic growth and improve long-term return on investments for savers. According to “Focusing capital on the long term” published in the Harvard Business Review in 2014, moving to this approach and toward a true long-term mind-set as contrasted to one with a short-term focus on “quarterly capitalism” requires that investors adopt a multi-year time horizon for value creation, that they define their risk parameters, including a willingness to accept and tolerate short-term underperformance, portfolio investments should actually be invested in line with long-term objectives and risk tolerance and that investment professionals and their external fund managers be committed to this long-term investment horizon.

Panel Topics:

  1. Corporate Stewardship
  2. ESG Integration
  3. Climate Change and Resilience
  4. Diversity
